After i log into hotmail, none of the functions work (i cant write messages or read messages, etc), and "error on page" is displayed on the status bar. when i double-click on this, it comes up with:

Line: 110
Char: 19
Error: Expected '}'
Code:0

However, for "Error:", it also sometimes says "object expected" and other things...

how can i fix this?? PLS HELP

BTW, this problem doesnt only happen with hotmail...for example, after i logout of hotmail and it goes to the ninemsn page, there are also errors:

Line: 8
Char: 1
Error: 'MainMenu' is undefined
Code:0

One of the first things you can try is to clear you cache. If you are using IE: Tools -> Options -> Delete Files, check "Delete all offline content", hit OK.

Tried both, neither worked... :(

Updated IE6 with Service Pack 1, and also installed Windows Script 5.6 for Windows XP

Still got the same problems...any more suggestions pls?

try to flush your cache when you're at Hotmail

i.e. hold down Ctrl + F5.

Go to Tools> Internet Options

under Advanced tab, look for

Disable Script Debugging, and tick that, and apply settings then restart the browser and you should be at most guranteed to be fine now. :)

The error isn't coming from your computer, its the webpages that Hotmail is sending you; they have errors in them.

Yep, and by default Script Debugging is turned on in IE, and when you download any of the scripts from sites IE will debug and check if there any syntax errors etc, and output messages like what you're seeing.

ummm... well it's most probably the installation of a program or whatever that had unticked that option in IE.

Clearing the cache will not help you. You need to disable a setting in advanced internet options "tools - internet options - advanced" the setting is called "Disable Script Debugging" make sure that box is checked.

Then apply settings, then close IE, then restart your pc. Then try logging into hotmail.

That should do the trick

right.... i've seen that before, two causes of this may very well be, you're using a old version of IE, which i'm sure you're not because you said you updated it to IE 6 SP1, or it may very well be a internet connection problem, but what sunny mentioned aboute deleting the cache and temp files, should have rectified it.
