first things first, the aim of business reports are to get across as much information as possible in the shortest amount of time in the simplest way. this means using flowcharts (if needed), bullet points, systematic numbering system and short paragraphs with short, to the point sentences.
the use of business terminology is VITAL. also.. wish someone told me this before, the teachers are looking for syllabus dot points in ur response (the syllabus dot points their looking for is basically the section of the syllabus the question comes from....so believe it or not you must memories the syllabus, especially for year 12 students preparing for the HSC). also to make it easier for them highlight the key words (maybe headings from the syllabus that u have incorporated in your response).
you must also write in a business report format, this means having an executive summary(summary of what the report explores and key findings....comes from what the question wants you to do, this should serve as a scaffold for your response), then you have the body where you expand on the dot points raised in the executive summary, and finally the conclusion and recommendation (most people omit the recommendation, but it can easily get you extra marks as it shows you have a deeper knowledge of business studies)....note in recommendation, basically you are outlining how the business could change in response to their shortcomings/problems, this include saying what they should be doing.
