i know a 165 cm first year who could drink a case of beer in the space of a few hours and feel fine. I also know one who would drink 12 and feel sick.

dude, i know a mate who participates in 'kill a keg' competitions.
A team of 10 kills the keg (231 standards) in around half an hour. It works out to about 23 standard drinks in 30min*.

*(according to my calculations - if they are correct)

That wasnt my example of a lightweight though, just pointing out that size =/= drinking ability. Although body mass does play a part.

I also happen to be a lot taller then 165. So i wasnt referring to myself.

sorry to interrupt the booze talk but here's my two cents on first yrs!

- They carry/have in their bag a binder with subject dividers for all their units.
OR
- They buy a 5 subject notebook then freak out by 4th week that it's full.

- They think they have to spend EVERY SPARE MOMENT in the library... even if they're not working.

- They talk through lectures... both to the professor and amongst themselves.

- They try to tell their tutors that them having 3 things due in 1 week is justification for an extension.

- They actually pay for the union discount program

and definite agreed on the textbook/pencil case stuff... although I must say I'm guilty of both!

i bring a clipboard and loose-leaf paper to lectures, then i have 4 large binders at home. Why carry around junk you won't need to refer back to?

Im first year..just starting in like a week man..and I must confess I cant hold my liqeur..cos 1. Im asian and Im kinda short..2. Im not built for drinking. 3 I have issues with drinking cos My liver cant process it ..fully..and 4..well I like girly drinks better cos of the fruit and tanginess.
