- They seem to think their UAI matters.
- They seem to think we older students care about it.
- Often as not, alcohol goes straigt to their head.
- Probably because their new-found sense of independence did the same thing and they have no idea how to control it.
- They're arrogant little berks.
- The males all seem to think college life is like that shown in American Pie or similar film and bring 12 boxes of condoms (don't ask me how I know this).

James, what are you majoring in for arts?
English. :D

Although I'll probably have done enough Philosophy units to have done a double major, if they do them in the Arts department. I haven't looked into that. I just looked into the Master of Teaching program to make sure I fulfilled the requirements and haven't looked at much since.

EDIT: I assumed you were talking to me, btw.

I edited my post.

Regarding Majors, if you say so, I'll take your word for it. I'll probably end up with four majors, heh. Chemistry, English, Biology and Philosophy.

Jb_Nc, you realise you could have done a diploma of languages at usyd?
Oh yeah, except it involves going to the Dean of Engineering getting him to approve it (not guaranteed either, I spoke to the faculty office and they were like "lolwut no") and all this other nonsense. I might enrol in a Sydney class and see if I can get approved credit for it @ Macq.

I'm not even sure I could have the class I wanted gel with my timetable either because Sydney doesn't run night courses.

So, yeah, I thought it out.

(Unless you know something I don't know...?)

They do for first year subjects and thereafter you can do external study

You can still get into Sydney's DipLang programme up until 8 Feb. I might go chase up the Dean and see if I can get permission for it quickly this week.

Mandarin Chinese at Usyd. The chinese teacher was excellent for first sem (both tutor and lecturer). Shame the tutor left after first sem, but I saw here at chifley plaza, must be working in a pretty good job if $120/hour for tutoring is not good enough!

What was so bad about civil? I was thinking of transferring to civil.

Did you get the Dean's permission to enrol?

Didn't like the mechanics part. Which unsurprisingly was all of second year (fluids, soil, and I think a few more).

And CivE wasn't really on the "cutting-edge" of anything in terms of R&D.

After less then 3 weeks of study, they usually begin complaining about uni, and how they're getting sick of it. You also start to hear them talk about how much they long/cant wait to graduate.
I'm in second year and it will be a beautiful day when I graduate lol :)
