How does Tea Tree Oil kill bacteria? (1 Viewer)

Hi, i am doing a science experiment and need to know how tea tree oil actually kills bacteria, like does it inhibit growth, stop DNA replication etc.
I only know that the active ingredients is terpin-4-ol.
