it was just as a general guide :)
that system for marks is quite common though.

my 1st year outa uni I got just below a credit ave.. and all i did was turn up for tutes/pracs..

last year started a new course.. went to every lecture, every class, tried in assesments, didn't do tooooo much work out side of class and got just under a D ave.

but maybe it's all got to do with how much i'm liking the new course..

If you put in good effort you will expect to get Credit. If you just did enough than it will be a pass. If you put a lot of effort (detail) like in your writing, essays expect to get a Distincton. You basically get Credit anyway from within a range but to get higher means you have to reach a mark of 75 +.
