Hi,

I've been researching about doctor as a job,
and while I was searching I came across dentist informations as well

It is said that dentist is guaranteed almost 100% to get a job
while it is true, because about 90% of them are setting up private

but, how many of them are actually "jobless"?
I mean, they have set up their own practice, but are not successful, since more and more people are interested in becoming a dentist because of the popular saying among the community "if you want a high-paying job, balanced between career and life and can be your own boss, be a dentist"

it is true that australia is currently short of dentists, but it is only true for rural areas, whereas there are a lot of dentist in the metro area

so do you know anyone who become a dentist but is not succesful?

opinions are also welcomed ;)

Pretty much every dentist is busy, so I wouldn't worry. Easy path to approx 200k pa by 25ish.
USyd's is BA/BSc 3 years + BDent 4 years = 7 years. Assuming you start at 18, you're ~25 upon graduation.

200k that quickly?

As an 08er, shouldn't you be done with job researching and be set already?
A bit late to be a dentist now if you didnt make it in. And if you did make it in, then dw...you're not gonna be jobless..

rural areas are short of everything. dentists wont find it hard to find work in the city either.

Also it is my professional opinion that you will not succeed at anything
