i was doing 12 and recently dropped chem because i didnt see myself getting anywhere so the whole idea of "12 units to be safe" just kinda left my mind and im going to starting 10 units soon. hopefully it'll work out

Although English will always be counted as 2units in your HSC...?

oh, i interpretted it as, hes bad at english and therefore he has backups.

so could it ever be the case that half of my bio and half of my french counted; as in
2 english
2 drama
2 business studies
2 maths
1 french
1 biology

yes, it can, top 10 units, each 2 unit course broken into a mark out of 50, ie 90/100 becomes 45/50, so half of a 2 unit subject can count

true but not two half subjects, cause that would be pointless cause one would be better and therefore you wouldnt halve it
it works though if a 1unit subject is better than a 2unit one
