Hi everyone

How many units are you going to have in year 12?

I heard your atar can take a hit if you don't do well in even 1 assessment task if you take 10 units. Is this true?

im doing 12 units, if you have 10 and stuff up one subject it will affect your atar significantly coz your atar is your best 10 units.

But if you have 12, you can potentially reduce your ATAR because you cant't spend more time on a certain subject.

Whoa 13 units - I feel a bit iffy in carrying 12 units.

Personally I'm very volatile so I stuck with 12 units for my HSC year

tbh i think the idea of doing 12 units as a safety net is useless.

If I pick up History Extension then I'll drop Chem and Bio, leaving me with 10 units.
If I don't pick up HistX then I'll have 11 units after dropping Chem.

Anyone else taking History Extension?

Can someone please clear up this whole "danger" with taking 11 units? Like it halves your score for ATAR or something? My 1u subject is SOR 1U btw.

Yeah that's what I thought. I'm going to have 10 because there is no point having my weakest subject as a backup lol
