heaps of people get band 6 in general maths every year, but standard english is a different story as only about 5 or 6 people get it. the reason for that is because the candidates don't have a high enough level of english skills to achieve it. if they did, they would more then likely be doing advanced english.
4% of people who did general maths last year got band 6. Thats not alot of people.

Im doing 11 units for the HSC dropped ext 1 eng at the end of yr 11.

Hoping for high 80s to 90's, even though i only need round 85 for my course its a matter of personal satisfaction when all the work is over.

Hmmm i don't think that's true for everyone (putting your UAI aim low will make your mark lower than what it could be), some people will work as hard as possible no matter what. A girl who was in my maths class was the only one who did all her h/w and class work, yet planned to drop all along. Some people just do their best whatever the situation.
Anyway, i'm doing 12 units, and i'd be happy with a UAI of 80+, 85+ would be even better, but, yeah my four units last year didn't go as well as planned, business def. won't count but i'll need high marks this year to cover my dance mark seeing as it scales so shit.
