This is more of a hypothetical question but say i just completely screwed my trials. Ended up being ranked average in an average school across all subjects. Then miraculously i manage to pull off band 6's in every subject when the actual HSC comes around. Is it possible to get at least an ATAR of 90?

It's impossible to tell because there are so many factors to consider. Generally speaking though, the finals are worth 50% so you can stage a pretty solid comeback - nothing outer worldly, but you can make up a lot of ground.
well considering that your trials are about 30-40% of the 50% internal ( ie. 15-20% of final) as opposed to the 50% of the external exams
the hsc exams are worth about 2-3 times more than the trial
