I am just wondering what the average 18 year old earns each week? I seem to be making double what my friends are and I'm working less hours than them and so I was thinking that maybe they are just in low paying jobs?

It depends on the job..... when I was 18 I was being paid 11.80 an hour to work in a cafe, but now I'm 19 and at a different job I get paid $17.50 an hour.... it all just depends on the job.

i was getting about $2500 all up from various races each season
and now i get $15.80 an hour
it just depends on the job...

Depends where you work and if you are full/part time or casual. Casual is usually ~ +20% extra then the full time rate.

man my job sucks....but i only get paid like 10hr(restaurant)normal rate.....buts different on sundays

I used to get paid $9.50 as a 17yr old working at Bi-Lo, now I have two office jobs, one as an admin assistant where I get paid $21.80 an hour 1 day a week, and one scanning in documents where I get paid $18.50 an hour or $23.50 before 9am and on sundays. All in all, I take home about $300 a week after tax.

i turned 17 on the 12th of sep and i work at big w as a casual. i get paid $9.86... i think its pretty good i usually take home about $100 a week

i dont have a job, but next near i have a traineeship at pwc and my gross wage is $22800 for the years, which is revised progressively (as in goes up each year based on my performance)

Oh ok my question was answered so thats good.

I use to work at Woolworths and I only got like $11 an hour and I wanted to start my own business but didn't know what so I joined Tupperware. Now I get between $60-$100 an hour and parties go for 2 hours so I try to do at least 5 a week. On a good week I will have about $1000 but most of it gets taxed which is really annoying. It's ok though coz I have fun at my job.

Half my friends work in the city at office jobs and get paid $500-$800 a week but some of them just work in other jobs and don't get paid much which is why I was wondering how much people usually earn.

i earned $17 hr as casual at the sydney show ground, and i am 19, people and under earn around $15hr

I earn $150 a week after tax. This is for 10 hours work, but my rates differ depending on the time and day.
