I think thats completely true. I payed for my laptop and car, and I know that I appreciate them so much more than my friends who's parents who have bought these items for them. It has also taught me a hell of a lot about saving and budgeting, but I think that this is also contributed to by my parents habits in this area.7th Sign said:If you are given too much you don't respect money as much.
But on topic, my parents pay for my school fees, they're around $4000 a year but I have a 50% scholarship so thats only $2000. They also pay for camps and stuff. I've never done tutoring or music lessons, but when I've done out of school sport they've payed for that. My youth allowance, while I receive it, goes straight to my parents except for about $20 which helps pay for petrol. Basic living expenses though, they pay for as well.
