Yes u can defer all of it, u only have to pay a certain amount if ur wanting a discount or are a full-fee student

in that case, mine is 2737 deferred, or 21xx upfront.

there is no interest on hecs as such, but it does get adjusted according to inflation (which is the lowest "interest" rate you will ever receive!)

does it go up each yr or certain courses cost more? each of my classes wer $601 but they rnt all in the same faculty....
mines $2404 w/o the discount

nah it shouldn't..easter days off are (i think) the 25th to the 29th..that's ending on the tuesday..the 31st is thursday..the holiday shouldn't go THAT long..(but i'd love it if it did :D)
