I'm glad the Labor Gov't is getting rid of the rail line into Newc. Not only is it an eyesore but it is also a hub of lewd and morally scurrilous behaviour. On my regular trips into the CBD, I always notice the station attracts the urban terrorists- drug users, skateboarders, rap painters and quarrelsome youths. The removal of the train station will rob them of their meeting place and reduce criminal behaviour.

The issue of anti-social behaviour is state wide, not just within the Newcastle area. With your agreement of removing the newcastle line, are you agreeing to destory all the rail lines in the state, just to reduce this behavour?

The problem does not lie with the rail line, its the people who are suppose to police them. I have witness many times when the train police officers, have done nothing to fine people who smoke on the station or they do not obtain a ticket, by letting these's people get away from these's crimes, its a encouragement for them to continue their ways.

So removing the lines is not the answer, this will have a huge impact upon the economy of the hunter. For example people who use the train to travel to their workplace.
