Also for this q for part a you would say V=60 right since the particle only travels 3cm so you scale that accordingly to the potential diff [(100/5)×3=60] but how come for part c you let V=100 and D=0.05m? Because its released from position Y and travels towards the upper parallel plate so why doesnt V=80 and D=0.04m?17245958055304997956905404932665.jpg

it’s not c because it should be diffraction not dispersion, dispersion is to do with prisms and separating light into individual wavelengths

ig it’s d because refraction causes waves to slow down, which also will cause them to bend (hence how they are bending around the corner 💀 even though that’s diffraction)

if for part C u used E = V/m, voltage is the total potential difference which determines how strong the E field is. whereas when calculating part A you’re interested in the change in potential between two points, hence why it would be 60V difference (eg point A is at 110V, point B is at 170V, so change in potential is 60V)

"Dispersion" is not caused by "waves bending around the edges of an object". That is a description of diffraction. "Superposition" is not caused by "waves bending near an object".
Dispersion is a change in the speed of waves due to a change in wavelength. A dispersive medium will cause a mixture of waves to separate according to their wavelength. For example, Crown glass is a dispersive medium, and a Crown glass prism causes white light to be dispersed into its separate colours. That question is rubbish.
