You can download the course guide for each of your subjects, email your tutors or go to the University bookshop website (if they use co-op) and type in your course code. The required books should come up. But if you don't have books for the first week, it should still be okay.

Yes, only per unit.
As books change from semester to semester there is no way to see what you will need for an entire course.
