how to inform them of ur major (1 Viewer)

got a email a while ago telling us to indicate our major/minor if we havnt done so. just wondering how we are suppose to do that?

btw i just finished my 1st yr of com/sci

You may inform the Science Student Centre at anytime of your Major/Minor Sequence mate.

Though, for timetabling practicality (not sure of the official reason) you should at the very least advise the student centre with 1 major. You can change your major/minor sequence at anytime before your graduation.

Just head to the Science Student Centre located almost opposite to Security (E), and ask them for the Major/Minor change sheet.

i c, would i have to do that for com too? as i havnt received an email asking me to do so.

would that mean i would need to head to uni during my holidays and tell them? or would it be ok to choose my subjects online now and advise them of my intentions for major minor when uni starts?

Or email the Science Student Centre at sso@unsw.edu.au Or you can tell Faculty of Business - they can update you on the system too.

The email will do the same thing as the paper form - it will go on your file.

Make sure you email it from your student email address, include your full name, and student number.

You would be surprised how many emails we (SSC) gets with students asking for this, and they don't provide student numbers or their names - and all from a hotmail address... Makes life interesting

im also in a commerce science degree

ive contacted the science student center about informing them of my major and this is the reply they've sent me: (nb - im currently overseas)

"Dear Karen,

You will be required to fill in an AS2007 form since you are a BSc/BComm
(3529) student. Other science degrees fill in the SM2007 form. It will
be sufficient if you fill in the form and declare your major when you
return to Australia.

Alternatively, if you reply with your name, student number and
Australian postal address, we can mail you a form which you can complete
upon your arrival and return to Science Student Centre with a copy of
your academic transcript. Completing the form will also require you to
write down your intended subjects for S1 and S2 2007.

While there is no definite deadline, we do require the forms to be
handed in as soon as possible before S1 begins, so that we can notify
you of any problems or make recommendations with regards to your degree
structure.

Holdup Karen. I'm guessing you are 2nd year in 2007 - and you won't need to fill out the AS or SM forms. This form is only for final year or honours year students.
