Hey guys,

Ok, I think I've finally got what we need to talk abt in this module in terms of the text's reception throughout time, different interprations/productions...etc.

But I think for me it's now a matter how to put it all together logically? Anyone have any structure ideas in terms of when and where to put what?

I also heard we gotta refer to 2 scenes/extracts as seen in last yr's question, but I dno, is that essential?

Any help would be appreciated!

last year we had to refer to specific scenes but, unless they ask you for specific references, no, you don't have to (though it will come out anyway in dicussion of technique). that said, you may find it useful to concentrate on two scenes for easier structure and coherency (the division of the kingdom, the heath, the 'trial', the meeting of Cordelia and Lear or the ending are all popular and easy choices). if you do choose this, it becomes simple to compare your readings/productions --> ie. what techniques does Eyre use in presenting the division of the kingdom scene and what is its effect in establishing a reading compared to the effect of the techniques used by Blessed or Brooks in the same scene?
