Hi guys,
Basically, I'm in yr11 and my physics teacher is kinda bad, like he just reads off the board without explaining stff clearly, also he teaches in a rlly boring way so it is hard to pay attention. There's no hw or anything so I never study outside of school (kinda my fault) just make some notes in class. We are literally in mod2 now and he gave us like a sheet to do (on mod2) and I didn't know anything. Most people in my class go tutoring so they get everything. I'm gonna have to start like self studying to be more up to date but I literally don't know where to find any materials, so what should I do? Like get a textbook or what. I don't rlly wanna go tutoring because I don't even know if I'll keep phys next yr, but I still wanna do good in it. I am literally so stressed and sad and behind 😢

I'm pretty sure mod 2 links into mod 1 (according to my teacher)
So I say start relearning a bit of mod 1. I can give you some practice questions on 1. concepts you should already know, 2. vectors in 1d, and possibly vectors in 2d?
but you have to SWEAR you won't share it with anyone, or my teacher will for a fact get mad at me.

When I say "relearn".
1. Look at s-t, v-t and a-t graphs and just analyse the movements
2. Derive the SUVAT equations (so you can see them visually)
3. Understand why you have to flip directions and shit (for 2d)
4. I can send you my notes (they're all over the place, but I write a lot of key stuff in it so it may be usefull)

i haven't started mod 2 yet, so i can't really help with that

I do think that, as a minimum, a student studying physics should have a textbook covering the syllabus content. I understand that either Pearson or Jacaranda would be suitable. Work through the textbook and ask for help (from your teacher or in this BoS forum) or look up YouTube videos for anything you don’t understand.

my math x2 teacher is basically the same (but probably not as bad as urs) and i get the feeling he assumes everyone already gets tutoring anyway..
and so my no.1 piece of advice is to get a textbook (or notes or something, anything!) so you can selflearn or consolidate the content (you can usually get online copies from somewhere..)
and either do textbook questions or past papers because practice is imo the best way to learn
if u arent confident with mod 1 i recommend consolidating it first, especially since it is crucial for mod 2 and a lot of yr 12 (mod5, mod6)
+ u can ask questions here or try asking ur teacher/other teachers at ur school or somewhere else, but understanding rather than rote learning the content is pretty important so ask questions if u r unsure on stuff

Surprise, surprise, yes you are going to have to do some study if you want to pass Physics. Nobody is going to spoon-feed you.
If you don't want to self-teach from a long-winded textbook, then I would recommend you get ********* Year 11 Physics by Jamon Windeyer. Study each module and dot point diligently from Jamon Windeyer's book before you do it in class, and you will be just as well prepared as the kids that are tutored.
