Hi can you answer questions with dot points (e.g: Explain...., or assess....)? I recently started implementing this style during my pre hsc years and its working wonders at the moment, but when I look at sample responses via nesa website for hsc bio, they all response w/ paragraphs.

Sorry dont do bio but you can definitely use dotpoints in other sciences (chemistry and physics) as long as they still make comprehensible sense to the marker. As for the NESA sample responses remember they are just a guide (and sometimes not an amazing one). I have seen the NESA answers use dotpoints though in other subjects.

You can get away with it for 1-5 marks. But in 9 markers they literally mark for your paragraph structure. So not having a paragraph is going to lose you marks.

also if you don’t practice writing in paragraphs for the 1-5 markers then you will definitely struggle to suddenly be able to do it for 9 markers
just to be 100% this is just for bio right? Does HSC bio have 9 mark questions?
