Yo guys, i really need some help. My question is, how much of the preliminary course is actually needed to get a high standard mark for engineering in the HSC test. Is it very necessary to know the preliminary stuff? Or is it very important to know the preliminary stuff?

Please, would really appreciate the help, thanks!

Engineering is no different to any other subject: you need to do preliminary courses to develop skills and understanding to apply to HSC topics.

If you want to try and do HSC course without prelim previously, be prepared to work extra hard! Eng St is already a difficult subject to achieve a 'high standard mark'.
