I am currently in my HSC year at school and I have an assignment for geography with ecosystems at risk.
I was wondering what are ecosystems at risk?
And would anyone be able to list a few ecosystems in Australia that are a ecosystems at risk.
Thanks .

Great Barrier Reef
Blue Mountain Swamps
Stockton Bight sand dunes

Im not quite sure how to define ecosystems at risk apart from saying that ecosystems are fundamentally vulnerable to various external pressures (such as tourism and residential development) and natural factors (such as tropical cyclones). Heres a site I used it was very helpful: http://mrstevennewman.com/geo/
Good luck :)

Biogeographical processes are pretty hard to understand.

Invasion - the "colonisation" of a species in a particular area.
Succession - subsequent species developing in the colonised area.
Modification- exactly what the name suggests.
Resilience - the ability for an ecosystem to recover from change.
