thank you haha
I really enjoyed elective comp, my topic was 1900-1945. Just worried because even though i got 98 internally, i can't predict how my comps will be received by the markers. but accelerating was good because otherwise, i would be doing 4 major works next year.
and yes, i'm looking at music ext! still choosing repertoire.
oh nice i did same extra topic as you then
and 98 internals is really good congrats
4 majors is crazy but less/shorter exams in some cases so maybe it's worth it? idk

what instrument do you play? i did ext performance and i wasn't very good unfortunately but ensemble was definitely fun

if i could choose again i defo wouldn't have done performance elective for both mu2 and ext, too many pieces in too little time on top of ameb and all that

yeah i picked elective comp for music 2 this year because my ameb rep would get in the way if i chose performance elective.
i play piano (lmusa) and violin (grade 7)

i wish i could have seen tsuji! also, i saw the prok toccata at encore this year. its a bit repetitive imo.
so far my choices are:
michael kieran karvey Pink Nautilus
rachmaninoff cello sonata 3rd mov
bach bwv 944 fantasia and fugue
it was one of his piano sonatas. can't stand his music.

it's so unnecessarily difficult. you don't need to have the diploma to be an incredible pianist. protect your sanity
I mean saying its unnecessarily difficult is a bit of a stretch no? But I agree that its only really bragging rights at hs level IMO

But some unis will award adjustment factors for grade 8 amus/elmus when complete in yr 12 alongside the HSC  but it doesn't count if you complete it beforehand!! (my friend did elmus on violin/piano I cant remember in yr 11 so it didn't count for the bonus points ) so depending on the overlap between the elmus rep and the hsc rep i'd think it would be worth doing

Why is he 'goated' tho? genuinely want to knpw
He was a giant of neoclassicism and writing original music in basically a sort of refurbished style to make his own style. He wrote many different types of works and forms, symphonies, concertos for many different instruments, operas, ballets etc. He could imbue a type of character into his pieces that no one else could. Combine lyricism with sarcasm, drama with soaring melodies. He was a pioneer of true modern chromatic displacements (along with other Soviets like Stravinsky). Why isn't he goated?
