On my subject listings/timetable I have HSTY 10442 (C20 Politics and Culture) but on my WebCT I've been given HSTY 1044 (Modern Europe 1914 - 1945) presumably in its place.

Is anyone else doing this unit? Can anyone fill me in as to whether my WebCT is wrong or I just have a different course name?

Hmmm, methinks sit's the other way around. I've got an entire course guide for Europe including a lecture timetable that matches what I've got for C20th on my timetable (down to the lecture theatre)

I hope Modern Europe is the case. It looks really interesting!

In the lecture the other day, he said that Twentieth Century Politics & Culture and Modern European History 1914-1945 were the same thing - University beaucracy meant that they insisted on calling it C20th... even though the History Department has always called it Modern European History.

Don't worry about it. If you are attending a History Lecture in Wallace on Wednesday at 11 then you are all good. If it says 1044 or 10442 on your timetable then thats the same too.

That makes sense except that 1044 doesn't run in first semester so that doesn't work.

Its the same thing anyways, just the University being stupid and trying their best to confuse all the poor first years :)

usually it means you're in stream 2, so there;s probably heaps of people doing hsty1044, so they break u up somehow. Is the lecture repeated during the week? Usually, that is wat happens and if u have 10442 it means uve been put in the second stream of lectures and tutes
