Question about submitting an major assignment late.

SO for example I handed in my major assignment 3 days late. I recieved a mark of 50 percent. Does that mean that my penalised mark will be 50-6 = 44%? according to the policy?

Also is there a specific limit to how much it can be late?

Any assessment submitted after the due date will incur a late penalty of 10% of the total marks per day late. Since submission is electronic, weekends and public holidays count as days in the same way as working day.

Any assessment submitted after the due date will incur a late penalty unless excused by special consideration, special arrangement or disability services adjustment.

SO FOR EVERY DAY LATE DO I LOOSE 10 PERCENT OF MY RECIEVED MARK OR FROM THE TOTAL POSSIBLE MARK????? SO I AM SAYING IF I AM 1 DAY LATE THE MAXIMUM MARK I CAN RECIEVE IS 90 PERCENT OR IS IT 10 percent minused out of my I deserve.???

I AM CONFUSED PLEASE HELP

No you would lose a total of 30% of the full marks associated with the assignment, that way every student is penalised the same amount.

Example - Perfect (10/10) assignment received one day late would get 9/10.
Example - Poor assignment (4/10) received one day late would get 3/10.

Both assignments lose 10% of the total mark per day - both students technically penalised by the same amount.
