hi ppl i have no clue about what i wud really like at uni!
i dont want 2 guess my uai, but hopefully it will be over 90...i was thinking about secondary maths teaching...but i dunno....shud i be doing something better??

imagine in 5 years time.. where would u be, what would u be doing?
think of ur strengths and weaknesses..
think of what u wouldnt mind doing for 20-30 years

if you can't decide, just do anything your remotely interested in, or that you reckon you could put up with as a job.

nothing wrong with teaching maths if your up for it.

i dont think anyone wants to definitley go to uni for this or that yet...

only until they get their UAIs back they can then make that decision

yeah, but i still have to decide about my interests n stuff like crazylilmonkee said.

anyways thanks pplz...i think im gonna look thru different courses and get my hands on different activities and things then i mite be able to decide!

I think the UAC thing is stupid...

they should let us do the HSC get our UAI THEN only then will we get a chance to choose our courses....

you need to think of whatever course you do as a path to a long term career.
i mean, think about it, you will work for prob about 40 years. you need to pick something you think you could enjoy doing for all that time
i mean, sure, career paths can and do change, but do you really want to waste four yrs of your life at uni, work for a few years and discover it isnt for you?

then how can they determine the cut-off mark?
the cut-of mark is determine by the demand of the course, and that originally comes from when u submitt ur preferences...

thats why ur allow to change ur preferencs after u recived ur uai

Your UAI shouldn't determine your future career (unless you have high expectations that cannot be met).

Maybe you could defer for a year if university is where you want to be yet you do not know what you should study?

if you have no idea about what you want to do... just do a bachelor of arts to start with.. that way you can choose subjects you are interested in and explore all avenues...if at the end of it you still want to be a teacher then thats great.. and you can do a dip ed at the end...
