Every Textbooks have its pros and cons topics.
Patel: (ive only done the questions) Pros: good straight forward questions
Excel (Patel):
Pros - lots of examples and fast questions really the excel!
Cons - Way too many examples and no proofs/theorems.
Cambridge:
Pros - very logical explanations, tricky further questions
Cons - inefficient methods
4u Coroneous:
Pros - covers lots of complex numbers questions.
cons -shits too old, very uninteresting.
Terry Lee:
Pros - colourful textbook, gots solutions if you feel unconfident. Some okay methods. Good questions for every topic.
Cons: many unlogical methods e.g inspection method, expensive book, and has that newspaper smell.
Fitzpatrick:
Pros - no one wants it so it's easy to get a copy.
Cons - i did the complex on it and it had three excercises.... covering only 30% of the whole topic. So i never used it again.
I think really it depends what you're studying and how you're studying. I guess if you are really unconfidient then getting terry lee's would be good since it has solutions. Some topics are good in some books e.g cambridge is good for integration, however, its bad for complex. Whereas Coroneous is great for Complex no, however, it has half of what the new syllabus has in terms of the other topics.
Overall i would say if you are studying 4u as a student; having the Terry lee book is the way to go. In an overview of 4u it covers most of the questions. Make sure you buy it off a past student though, the book costs $60 in cheap stores.
My style is that I spamm questions of all these books except for fitz and coroneous.
