The answer is yes. Unlike Mathematics Extension 2, an English Extension 2 student still needs to take English Advanced (including sitting the HSC exam). If you take English Extension 2, you will be taking 4 units of English, consisting of 2 units of English Advanced, 1 unit of English Extension 1 and 1 unit of English Extension 2.
