important question about ranking/aligning (1 Viewer)

hey, can someone clarify this for me:

if in my subject i rank 2nd by a very small margin, say 0.5%

and in the hsc external exam i get 98 (for instance)
whereas rank 1 and the rest of the class get 85 or thereabouts

does this mean i get aligned an assessment mark of ~85?
or do i get a higher assessment mark because my ranking behind 1st was only by a very small margin?


(this question stems from the fear that ill be ranked 2nd or 3rd in my class, ill ace the hsc but the rest of my class, including the higher ranked, will do quite badly)

No, your moderated assessment mark would be close to 98.

It doesn't matter who scores the top marks in the HSC exam, so long as someone does.
