No matter what combinations I use, it just seems absolutely impossible to fit two majors into my commerce degree. The course has 144 credit points but if I add the core subjects, and two majors the best I can get is 156 credit points (because one of the GOVT subject is in the core subjects category) - which clearly goes over the 144 credit point 'limit'.

So... is it absolutely impossible to do two majors in the Commerce degree from the Faculty of Business and Economics Major choices?

Speaking of double major, is there a specific date we have to finalise major or do we have to do it before enrolement?

What units were you thinking of doing?

I don't understand how you can get 156 units, as the maximum with the 6 credit point standard would be 144.

If you look here http://www.econ.usyd.edu.au/course/FH027.html it seems to me that you HAVE to do 2 majors whether you like it or not.

If there are 66 compulsory credit points, plus an extra 36 credit points for another major, thats still 42 spare credit points yes?

Or you could just ask Stas :p

Yes. In the meantime I've rang USyd and found out if I wanted to do two majors INSIDE the faculty of business and economics, the only thing that goes with my govt is international business.

Which is what I will now do. Much thanks for the help everyone.

ok, stazi to the rescue.
eco & bus faculty are dumdums.

For instance,
Marketing major: 42credit points (as 2 of the required uos are covered by core units)
Compulsory units: 66 credit points

Which leaves u with 36cp. This can give you an international business major or perhaps even an accounting major (as core units will overlap). Some majors you won't be able to do, though, unfortunatelly.

I like Finance and Management, so I think of doing these two majors. But one guy I know doing PhD in UNSW said they are not related, so it's kinda stupid. He talked about doing one major only and all of its electives instead of "at least" one, then do st similar.

So I just want to ask you guys is it weird to do Finance and Management? and doing 2 majors mean no specialisation, while I still like two of them
