Financial maths can be heavy.
But then again i'd imagine its more of a skill in dealing with numbers rather than ridiculously hard calculus and such (though i'd imagine equations associated with finance are also complex).

Does anyone here intend to do what they enjoy?

Or even what they are good at?

Don't do something to earn money because it won't happen. No matter how hard you work, someone is working harder than you. No matter how smart you are, someone is smarter than you. No matter how educated you are, someone is more educated than you are.

95% of people who go into finance / business to make huge money fail. Only a very few earn good money.

Pick one: good money, or reasonable working conditions and enjoyable work.
i enjoy earning money, and i intend to be good at it ;)

Yeah I did the same thing, althought i emailed the HR Manager at Macquarie bank, she told me the exact same thing. You can have a credit average, but if you show that you've done alot of work experience, sport etc you have a very good chance of getting an interview.

That's why I spent so much time preparing applications for voluntary work experience in my chosen discipline. I finally got it with Sony Australia in their HR Department, after 2 rejections I was so persistent they actually gave it to me they were impressed by my motivation.

The HR manager at Sony told me that if I keep up my motivation levels and my persistency i'll get preety far. She earns over $275 K. So I'm preety happy.

Although I still want to pursue the legal profession, that's why im transfering into a combined Business/Law degree in 2006. So goodluck to me

Hmm, yet again I have forgot about actually thinking what sort of job I want.

I was going to do International Business as my Business major, and who knows what as my IT sub major (I do B Bus/B Comp).

Basically what are good jobs which earn rediculous amounts of money?

Also should I do Business or Business/Law or should I move unis?

Let's assume I can do anything, am capable of anything.

Shutter, DONT do International Business. AWFUL subject I hated it when I did it in first year as an elective.. I completely regret choosing the subject its so dodgy.. Do you go to UTS?

You'll have a wacko lecturer who just talks about how old he is getting and what we'll all be doing in the future.. and a wacko tutor as well hated the subject not structured at all!

damn, im gonna be doin marketing and advertising majors, so i guess i wont be looking at big salaries then i guess(compared to IB and acct etc). wat happens if i want to get a executive postion later on in my career within a company, will it still be possible wit these majors or should i reconsider one of my majors(im sticking to marketing no matter wat, if i was gonna change i would change the advertising major). and would a honours for marketing imporve my chances in my career, or would it be a waste of time.

Mehh READ WHAT I SAID.

Korn, I'm just giving my opinion, no need to be rude. It's not like Shutter is going to listen to me anyway, I'm just giving feedback on what I thought of the subject. For all I know Shutter might really enjoy it. So next time refrain from making such comments because I didn't make them to deter other people from doing those majors it was all opinon thanks
