Hey guys. Being a 2004 HSC student, I suddenly had a panic attack while eating my pizza tonight. I suddenly remembered that Brendan Nelson (our Education Minister) said that full-fee places for 2005 would be increased. Does that mean that HECS places will be decreased??? Does this mean that the UAI's for the courses this year will all increase higher than 'normal' (compared to 04)? *Sweating now...*

Damn I hate Liberal!!!

I guess what I'm trying to ask is that, would the increase in the intake of full fee students this year DECREASE the number of HECS places available? Will this cause the increase in the UAI cut-offs for this year to be much higher than the previous years?

Will this affect UTS's B. Business's (HECS) cut-offs this year?

just dont go to USYD or UNSW, most other Uni's don't offer full fee paying to locals...

full-fee is just wrong

like, 99.6 for usyd law
but only 96 if mummy and daddy can pay $20 000/yr for you
and that is quite a significant difference

their rationale is that every fee paying student contributes enough resources for them to create an additional place

i thought that usyd and unsw offered the most in terms of full fee courses. i think that is fair for there to be full fee places. think of the sweating that is to be had when one goes to a crappy school but performs equally as brilliant as a person from a selective school for example. do you think that si fair that thsi other person should be advantaged as so?
