hey i got 11.55

is this rite?
if wrong plz explain wot i did wrong guys

so2 + 0.5 o2 --> So3

initial 0.06 0.05 0
change -0.04 -0.02 + 0.04
equli conc 0.02 0.03 0.04

thus using equlibrium formula = 0.04/ (0.03^0.5 x 0.02)

thx .......and hope everybody good luck for the hsc reuslts when they arrive!!!!!!!1

yupyup!

theyr both correct...133.3 and 11.5 ish are both correct...coz it depends on whether u balanced it 2-1-2 or 1-1/2-1...one's the root of the other...:p

I dont think thats correct...theres only one equilibrum constant and its indicative of how much products/reactants are favoured at equilibrium. Using 1-1/2-1 or 2-1-2 shouldnt make any diff...i think the answer is 11.55.

heyis there only 1 value of k constant?

because im finding that if u balance it differently then u get diffrerent results

133.3
and 11.55

so does this mean one of them is wrong

ie.. u cant use calcultions of k wif non integer numbers as in

1 0.5 1 balanced.......

im not too sure...balancing shouldnt effect conc. and there should be only one K, because it is indicative of something.

it matters how u write the equation!

If u write it 2so2 + o2 > r2so3 like i did u get 133.333333333...
but if u write it so2 + 1/2o2 > so3 u get 11.5......

since the k value for the first is the square of the second!

what gives! what is the real k value :(

ske!
you da man!!
hehe (do you know who i am?)

i got 11.55 and 133 is also right! (yay!)

ok, this option is by far the hardest option because it took me over an hour to do this option. It doesn't fair, even with scaling, because when we spend more time on this option, there's less time for us to check and do stuff in the main part. And we have to rote learn industrial processes too!!!!!
