That's true, but companies don't really give a shit about their "quality" of work. They just want it done at a cheap price
+1.

Companies care about profits and giving more dividends to their shareholders. This is the same reason why they pay cadets so low of a salary (well that's another story).

You just cannot make a conclusion on this topic.

They are many variables to consider.

But it's true that some opportunities of IT have decrease just mainly due to the cause of outsourcing. Also you just cannot say that western employees do a better job.

There is good things and bad things in every situation

Like electronics manufacturing, ( I don't know if it's relevant or not ) Apple has outsourced their manufacturing of iPhones to china.

Are iPhones bad products ?

I was reading some where that if an iPhone was made in the US it wouldn't cost your 15K of an iPhone

Nao,

Why do you think Google have a headquarter in India. So they could hire cheap employee who does efficient work.
Google has headquarters everywhere around the world. But it is headquartered in the US (ie it's main HQ is in the US). "We moved into our headquarters in Mountain View, California—better known as the Googleplex—in 2004." (http://www.google.com.au/about/company/facts/locations/). Having a HQ in India has absolutely nothing to do with wages.

http://www.graduatecareers.com.au/C...rmationandCommunicationTechnologies/index.htm. Also check out joboutlook.gov.au, they too predict strong growth in the ICT sector in the upcoming years. Looking at the data, you just can't say that overall opportunities in IT have decreased/will be decreasing.

Of course we can say that Western employees do a better job. There's ALWAYS a trade-off. There are fewer regulations in countries like China and India, but anything that companies do here is heavily scrutinised. So companies here NEED to be producing quality products or they'll be taken to court. The $15k for an iPhone that is manufactured in the US seems very much off. Sure, you'd expect an increase in price, but not a 75x increase in price (assuming it was sold for $15k in the US, where it currently sells for $200).

"Today Google has more than 70 offices in more than 40 countries around the globe." Also from the Google website. Having an office in a certain country does not mean they are only employing people from that country. Of course they need employees in India, if they wish to have a significant portion of market share in India they better have an office there. But having an office there does not mean that they're going to make India a new place for their Googleplex.

But the iPhone is engineering and designed in the USA. Even the software. The manufacturing processes is not an academic job.

Bullshit. Every full-time Google engineer who has the necessary qualifications to get a work visa to the US gets an offer to work in Mountain View in addition to their other offers (at least in theory). So every engineering employee who can get a work visa to the US gets a chance to work in the US. Google LOVES adding employees to the Googleplex, and they'd put all engineers there if they could.
