I am a member on Interactive English and i highly recommend it. The website has great resources for all english texts, and is a great tool for HSC english. The site has helped me on numerous occasions, and enables me to complete my work with ease.

Ok, this I can help with. XD

I tried private english tuition and dropped 50 ranks...
so I pick up interactive english (cheap and everything),
and my rank went up by 49 in just one term
i was basically failing before but I got 16/20s for trial (17/20 being highest)

=)
so yea, good stuff

the thing is, if u buy more, it costs less
and unfortunately most english tutors tend to spend lesson reading essays (for about 40bucks an hr LOL)

unless u get an awesome tutor... may be bobness

Actually not too sure about the latter. My experience was: their email landed in my spam folder so i decided to check out their website. It looked pretty decent but then if they're just marking essays, why not just get your teacher i thought

Tutors are there to help you present a more distinctive thesis, or suggest techniques that are more left-field (as opposed to basic similes, metaphors and the like). If you need to use a marker, most school teachers are competent or at the worst hire a hsc marker for 2hrs (less than $100) to mark all your essays and provide personal feedback in that time
