This is one of the option I'm considering at the moment, and I was wondering if anyone here does this? Ive read through the prospect guide for both of them, and I'm interested in doing international studies, because I speak 3 languages, and would love to go into diplomacy, etc. Combining it with law seems a good idea, basically in terms of employment prospects, etc.
Any thoughts? I've basically made up my own mind, so I'd like to hear opinions about it from others. Thanks in advance.

I did Specialist Asian Studies with law, which I suspect is quite similar to what you're planning on doing. I transferred out though, because I wasn't interested in taking the extra year overseas. The extra year bumped up my degree from 5 to 6 years (I'm not sure if that's the case with yours though).

I too am interested in this degree, but still unsure about whether or not I'd want to go on exchange....does anyone know how difficult it is to transfer back to Arts/Law from International Studies/Law?

Both programs have the same UAI cut off. I'd imagine that it wouldn't be too hard as long as you pass everything. That said, I'd check the different courses that you can take under the International Studies degree, if they're the same as anything you could do under arts (except more restrictive, like at ANU) you'd probably be better off starting with arts/law, then transferring later if you WANT the year overseas. Keeping in mind of course that International Studies students aren't the only people who are allowed to go on exchange.

From the number of people who have, I don't think its that hard. But if you are not sure if you want to go overseas just do a BA. The International studies course also kinda disrupts your law plan (compared to the BA and Bcom people)
