Hi guys, I’m a 2025 graduate and is in the progress of enrolling into double engineering(honours)/commerce at unsw. Originally I thought the degree was pretty cool so I decided to do it but after accidentally enrolling I found myself stuck in this course and realising that engineering is no joke. I didn’t do physics at all in school and have no idea on coding though I did do 3u maths, I looked at the perquisites online and it says I would be severly disadvantaged had I not done hsc physics so I’m very scared. I was just curious too if I were to drop egineering and change it to some other double would I need a good wan for IPT and when is the soonest I could transfer as to not waste money. Also another option is to just do commerce by itself and drop egineering only if so do I need to have a good WAM?

one last thing if anyone has done this course and managed to survive it how long per week if study is usually required to pass comfortably.

Thanks

A factor you want to consider is how many physics course there are that you are going to do. Although physics may be listed as assumed knowledge, there may be only one course. Of course, you could look into doing a transfer. Personally, I found studying physics useless in my case due to my degree being focused on IT.

Since uni can be a bit fast pace, I recommend taking some online coding course. I personally recommend Udemy, however you can look at other sources such as Code Academy.
