Yeah but they're useful in that you can buy CDs and play them immediately as well as in the car.

Oh ok, yeah I'm a uni student and have an apple shop like 10 mins away from me. Sick.

But problem remains, iPod shuffles only take mp3 files, not wma, so all teh songs I've ripped onto my computer, I can't use them, and I don't download. So is there any way to change the format of wma's to mp3?
Prepare for some considerable quality loss.

PS WMA LOAL

doesnt it annoy anyone that the shuffle has no screen?
No, why would it annoy?
It's cheaper cause its small and has no screen. People who want screens would buy an ipod mini, or an iriver

in my opinion, the only advantage the iPod has over the iPod mini is the capacity. it depends on how much music you want to store.

You have to look around a lot, or call a lot of stores

First try all the authorised Apple Centre's, as they have the most stock, and you can get student discounts.

Gapless playback, that is no gaps when you have one song after another, really useful for such albums as trance/dance or in my case various songs which flow into each other, namely american idiot album, which has something like 5-6 songs flowing into each other, APC - judith, orestes, 3 libras, and a whole lot more, its just annoying hearing the gap

yeah it is fuckin' annoying.
the only way to get around it is to encode the entire album as 1 track. :(

That depends on your Equaliser settings. If you're playing a song unsuited for the preset EQ, then it's going to sound really bad.

hmmm. i'm not sure what i should set my equaliser to. i played around with the settings the other day, and decided the songs generally sound better with treble booster - so that's what i've got now.

That could be the problem if the song has reasonable bass. To be honest I just use the default EQ on my Ipod, works best I've found.
