How original this thread is...

However, let us see, English is compulsory... Math is not.

Too bad, opinions are irrelevant, you have to do it if you want your little Certificate.

Thus, in HSC perspective, English > Math.

Though, I don't deny the power of Math throughout society, as with English.

i dont like english, because its too subjective. but nevertheless, its still required to be compulsory, so you have to work at it anyway.

As much as I am a maths person, HSC English is a real subject.

I mean if they let subjects which require huge amounts of bullshit like Visual Arts and Music be considered real subjects, then I can't see why English isn't, which contains far less bullshit.

Hmm... Maths is surely more logical and practical, but English is also pretty logical when it comes to AoS responses.

ironically english ruined my love of books
everytime i see a metaphor, simile, oxymoron etc i start the think about them and get sidetracted from the plot

i don't like english and wish it wasn't compulsory but i can understand the reasons why it is compulsory

yes, unfortunatley HSC english is a real subject, but i wish it wasnt.
at this rate for me to achieve my goal UAI i have to pick up 5-10 marks in most of my subjects, as well as 15-20 in english. its the only subject that i do that d really like to drop, especially since ive never been good at it, although the joke is i was to of my year in year 10 for it.
