IPT has been a bludge. Chat, food, drink, internet during lessons. Having said that, however, you need to study the textbook at home, remember all the stuff in it and apply it on the questions, then you will get a decent mark. I mean textbook, not the excel book or other study guide. One of my friend in my class who believes the excel book = textbook and didn't bother to study the school textbook failed very badly (33% in the trial). The excel book doesnt have everything you need in it and is crap.

When it comes to Computing subjects, if you like computers to do research or play games but not learn whats going behind it than you should not be doing it at all. Guys who want to do an IT course are probably looking to do a course in IT after school. IPT is the theory side of system management and requires alot of remembering information. Just revise those notes in class and you will be fine. Some questions are quite straight forward. All you really need to study is the textbook you are given NOT any study guide such as Excel. They are basically the textbook. IPT is a subject where if you know your knowledge, you'll do well. This is computing studies not Physics or Chem. As I said, if you dont enjoy using the computer and hate it when you hear terminology, then dont do IPT at all.

I have to agree with everyone else IPT is not hard IF you have a good teacher, my teacher is the worst one out, he got us to summerise the textbook and that was basically it, he had a few lessons here n there where he TRIED to explain a few things, i hate the subject and I am coming 1st, assessments are not hard work, overall IPT is fairly straightforward and alot of theory so be prepared to write alot

I usually try to stick away from excel books...because practically yes, they don't have everything in it...I think the heinamann textbook is great...though there are times that requires knowledgeable bulls**t for the eg. "discuss" questions...expecting you to provide a 1/2-1 page answer to it...Gough Whitlam said:

I only used 45 minutes of my trial and maintained my #1 rank with 94. Its really about being able to put yourself in other peoples situations, and the ability to remember key words.
