Is it true that we get a chance to change/alter our course selections once we get our UAI's back?

YES. You can change it right up to January 5 and they will still count for main round. After that the new preferences only come into effect for the late round.

Go to the UAC site for these questions, they answer them ALL there!

hel laz u reckon if u applied to transfer from on uni to another by spetember 30 th u will receive an offer in the early round i.e. 5 th december??

coz the uac guide says that majority of early round offers are mad for non year 12 applicants

i believ that means its made for those students for whom uai is not taken into acct at all ... but while transfering from one uni to another, they DO consider ur uai ... ur uai counts for 50% of what theyre looking for ....
the early rounds are for those students who apply as mature age students, as international students and postgrad study

actually, it depends on how much of tertiary study u have completed ... i know that if u transfer after first yr, its 50% uai, but if any later, more emphasis is placed on ur uni marks ....

i heard that from a friend of mine who in this case completed an aqf diploma 5 or a 4o week diploma and he transfered from college to uni and said they conisdered some 30% & of his uai and the rest was uni marks

he got a uai of 52 and finished his diploma with a 5.7 GPA and got in to a course that had a uia of 80

so i dunno

It's possible the 30% UAI thing was specific to that course/uni.

As I said, there are different cut-offs for transfers - he wouldn't have made it in under the normal HECS cut-off, even with 70% uni/30% UAI.
