That's a hard question to answer generally, the standard of trials and HSC papers varies wildly.

I got the impression last year that physics and chem were easier than some of the trials I'd done, like the Grammar ones.

not really easier

i think it's coz ppl study hard b4 the hsc. So especially for things like chem and phys, they understand things aot more in depth then b4. Hence they find it easier.

I've heard that CSSA trials are usually one of the most difficult.

Catholic Schools ... Trial Paper.

Btw, they are not harder they just test stuff not in the Syllabus (for example, in Physics).

yeah it does vary a lot, depends on subject

like last yr, I found the HSC 3U maths paper to be the hardest one ive done...whereas for Physics, the HSC paper was the easiest I had ever done (except for my option)

LOL! They just had to make our one difficult - Q2Q.
Anyway, Ext1 Mathematics paper was alright ... It could've been worse. :D

Yes ... Q2Q was extremely hard for someone to try to make up 25 Marks especially with those questions. :p

not everyone here did FOUR UNIT MATHS u kno! :p
so it was challenging for me, especially the last question (which I may or may not have attempted, lol)

yeah and Q2Q...for someone that crammed that topic in a couple of days, it was hard to apply that crammed knowledge to those questions (I was fine for the rest of the paper though)

Well, the RAW marks out of the 84 are scaled UP. And one would suspect that something around 80+ RAW would give someone a mark of 100. And something around the mid-70s around 96+.

If you are an Ext1 student, your mark of 47 could be anything from ... say 46.50 to 47.49 which means a mark between 93 and 95, which when you think about it is a large range.
