If I do postgrad study I'm hoping I'll just jump from Hons 1 into a PhD, no need for this Masters business...

Masters do have their uses though. Doesn't always make you overqualified, and I imagine a lot of people do them whilst also working in any case.

Honours gets you straight onto the path for a PhD, or so I hear from those who I've talked to at UNSW.
