I said 60 was my RAW mark thru out the year.

In HSC they scale your marks. I am guessing that i got a RAW of around 65% which they scaled up to 88%. We never get to know our raw marks. 65 is just a guess.

It also depends WHAT School You go to...prolly you go to a selective school or a very good school, so definately the exams must be harder.

thanks, either way it's best i start now rather then worry how worse a subject is compared to another subject
True that. Just work hard in Standard English. If you do well, it's gonna be fine.

My Sis did similar subjects to u, except, instead of SDD she did Maths Ext 1.

"as if it doesnt... its like saying doing seniour science is equivalent to physics and chemsitry..."

Standard and Advanced English are scaled as one course.
Senior Science and Physics and Chemistry are not.

you mean that rank wise they include the advanced ranks as well right, is that for both papers or just one

Paper 1 is used to moderate the results of Paper 2 so that the combined mark can be put on a common scale.

Just think about it this way. 2 identical raw marks in Advanced English and Standard English will scale to the same mark.

2 identical aligned marks in Advanced and Standard English, will almost not likely to equal to the same raw mark. In actually fact, It's possible to say that getting an 84 in Standard is a lot better than getting 84 in Advanced English.

At my school highest in Advanced was 85...So if i did advanced i wud prolly have done much better in it :). SO this means i wud have been 1st in Advanced English. Prolly > 85 with all that effort i put in Standard. I have no regrets though. :)

i see what you guys mean now, then again it's harder to get 84 for standard compared to advanced

perfectionist, you both have very similar marks, do you two often study together, with similar subjects as well

Yeah, we helped each other a lot thruout the HSC, it was like when i used to do assessments at home or study for some assessments, she was there so u know i know wat she's upto and stuff...Sometimes we learnt dot points for Physics and Chem together, esp the real boring ones in Physics. We also helped each other in Maths. Told each other our plans to study, and our Timetables, so that we know we are on the right track.

The best thing was that I always had her to hang around with in school...at least not alone like some others in so much HSC stress :D
Other people in my school were all alone (nigels is a better word for some of them :D)....At least i had someone's support :) esp when we were doing at the same time, esp when there are lots of jealous people around, esp, during HSC time.(u'll find heaps of them but i found one EXCEPTION)

u know, :) 1 and 1 is NOT 2, it is 11:D...as my dad always says.

Not everyone's that Lucky ;)

get some tuition for the harder subjects (being a victom of physics myself, i feel ur pain, try to get some help or forma study group if possible).

and even if u dunt happen to get 92!! AT LEAST U CAN SYA THAT U TRIED UR BEST!!!!!

thats all a person can do really?

so dunt slack of now, there is still HEAPS of time!! CMON LETS BANG THIS BITCH!!!

ur chances are very high by the way... 4 hours a day is simply to be safe... but i would say that should be a minimum

by the way.. wat are ur ranks? because some schools are setting heaps hard tests... so if ur ranked averagely, then these marks aren't best potraying ur actual position... it can be de-moralising, but it helps u study...

so dunt lose hope no matter WHAT happens, just keep trying... there are HUDNREDS of opportunites and u can make ammense later..

FOCUS!

good advice!

Yeah still it is good to discuss with friends cos i know some people who never have had anyone. I feel sorry for them.

Anyways, Good Luck with your HSC :)
