Hey, so this question came up whilst I was revising my POM. Can there be a hydrocarbon with more than one type of bond. E.g. A hydrocarbon with a single bond as well as a double bond, or a hydrocarbon with a triple bond and a double bond, or any combination, etc. And if so, how would it be named because the current system bases the ending of the name of a hydrocarbon on it's highest bond. (e.g. single bond = ane, double = ene, triple = yne). So would it be named after the highest bond, or would there be something in the name to let you know there are other bonds in the compound?
