ummm ok it's not that bad as long as you're ok with standing for hours and listening to that incessant beeping. And if you're good with dealing with customers you'll do fine, tho you'll still get the retarded people who yell at you for things way out of your control. (Is it really my fault if your cooked chicken leaks?!)h
i love woolworths, not because the checkouts are easy, but if u get the right store, with the right people, it's really fun, i only enjoy working there cause of the people, so try find a smaller store, more friendly people....it's nice
cant believe you quit kylie my sister works on checkouts at our woolies and she said the supervisers are absolute bitches. She's been there for nearly 4 months i think it is and she still hasnt been taught how to count her draw at the end of her shift. Yeah i dunno, i guess cause youve had so much experience at big w youre in with a fairly good chance of getting a job there...
ive been there 4 years
usually i like to talk to customers so im fine with it and i often get put in other departments cuz i know what to do in deli, bakery, variety and perishables
the supervisors are absolute bitches and im contemplating quitting because of them.. they werent bad about a year ago but the current ones steal and bitch too much for my liking
i applied for a job in the photolab at big w last week haha
basically it's like any customer service job. You stand there and get abused by the customer, who sees you as their insignificant, mindless slave. Obviously if you're behind the till, you're stupid - yet you're not allowed to make mistakes. And then they accuse you of trying to rip them off.
Right now, I really really hate Woolworths - the people I work with are lovely, but the crap you get from customers isn't worth the hourly rate i'm paid.
Its an ok job, but you have to be able to put up with a LOT.
