No, dying in a natural disaster is like dying by pure accident. You can't blame anyone for your misfortune.

Dying on a battlefield or terrorist attack is entirely man made, you have someone to blame for your death....well, you're relatives do anyway.

Either way, you're still dead.

I just find it very sad when a human life is extinguished. Life is special to me, and I don't like seeing it taken away from others.

No it doesn't seem.....there have been bloody wars and natural disaster since recorded history. What we are experiencing now is relatively calm compared with ancient times with wars when empires established themselves such as the Roman empire, Mongol empire, Persian empire, Ottoman empire and deaths from famines and plagues such as black death.

Only idiots would look at the world today and say this is the worse it has ever been and the world is coming to an end.

true, there have always been natural disasters, but these disasters are increasing in both frequency and magnitude.

modern war also has far more potential for mass destruction, unlike wars of the past. so yes, things are getting worse and lets face it, the world can't keep going the way it is for too much longer...

The way I look at it, is the depth/amount/kind of sin that has been around at each time, and then relate these to disasters being allowed to happen. I'm sure you can agree that sin is by far the worst today than it's even been in history.

No I can't agree on that. Why is 'sin' far worse today than 5000 years ago? There was just as much killing going on back then as today, just with more primative weapons.

Killing is only one sin out of lierally thousands. The big "contenders" today is abortion, homosexuality, opression of the poor. generations before wouldn't have even allowed some of these. But theres so much more... lusts of the flesh, adultery, crime of all sorts, practicing and being entertained by magic/psychics/mediums, worshiping false idols (this has reached "epic" proportions), pornography, sexual immorality/fornication, even living together before marriage, killing ANY of God's creatures, stealing etc etc. Then there are emotion/thoughts that are sins such as pride, hatred, jealousy, anger, even laziness. The list just goes on an on. Sin basically has become integrated with people's lifestyles, and we really need to change. We don't see everything, but God does... and He'll NEVER forget it...unless we confess them and repent. More importantly than the increased filth in this world, is that most is accepted by society and culture today....not even caring if it violates God's law....He knows all.

Doesn't sound any different to the situation a few thousands year back....if anything it is much better now, people are more civilised than in the ancient times.

Yeah so what? There was PLENTY of paganism, human sacrifice, rapes, black magic, tribal/clan warfare, slavery etc back in the ancient times. Infact, MANY, MANY times more than in contemporary times. So what? Human society as a whole has progressed since those times. It's not by any means perfect, but still better than back then.

Evil will "wisper" to you and tell you that you are living in calm/peaceful times. As I said, God knows the true extent of how much the world is "infested" with so much sin today. Offcourse people sinned then, but now it is multiplied by millions and billions. Nations as a whole sin. Actually whats more sad than the increased sin, is the amount of people and nations that have forsakken and turned away from God, simply by not obeying Him. The world has never been in the state it has been today.

And lunacy will "whisper" to you that the world is worse today than ever before.
Sure there are MANY crimes of all types commited in modern society but compared to the ancient times when massacres, torture, slavery, witchcraft, sacking and looting of villages, mass rapes and canabalism happened, today life in modern societies is like a walk in the park.

People and society is generally more educated and less crazy than you think. I would rather live in modern times than in ancient times, and have my village attacked and looted by savage head hunting huns.
