Well the library is saying that I've got two books overdue but I never heard of them or even saw them. Can they still charge me for them?

LOL. This is just like that Seinfield episode. Is the guy in charge called 'bookman?'No, but, seriously. Its their word against yours so I'd say they would be able to charge you unless you can PROVE that they were never taken out.

I remember this happened to me back in year 8, and after a couple of letters from my parents, and finally a visit from my parents, they changed their mind and said that I didn't have to pay for it. Coz I seriously never borrowed, nor heard of it, ever in my entire life. My school library fucks up things all the time. I never ever borrowed from them again.

In most cases you have to pay the library the book's price.
ive found you usually have to pay for the price of the book + $10. its like they buy their books from an expensive supplier who charges way above the RRP.

anyway, libraries screw up all of the time.

ive returned books only to have the library tell me that i still have them. the next time I went to the library I found it on the shelf and showed it to them. the following conversation i had with the lady behind the counter gave off the impression that this isnt a rare occurence.

there has also been an instance where i have borrowed about 6 books on the same subject. i returned them, but a few days later i found that i had forgot to return one of them, so i only returned 5 of the 6. but i checked online and they recorded the item as being on the shelf.

point is libraries screw up all the time, if you persist im sure they will believe you eventually.
