well i heard from a 16 yo friend that she gets approximately $12 p/hr.

But she doesn't work at a newsagent any longer.

Um, well depends who the owner is on the rate of pay they'll give you.

Dunno wat the pay wouldb like but how hard could it be. Sounds like an ok job for a first job, plus it will give u some experience before u move on for another job.

yeah for a person working in a newsagency, you fall under the "shop assistants" award of pay.

under sixteen - about $7.90/hour mon-fri, $8.90 saturday, $11.45 sundays
sixteen - $9.80/hour mon-fri, $11.50 saturday, $14.45 sundays
seveteen - $11.92 mon-fri, $12.49 saturday, $17.85 sundays.

but thats just a rough guide. some people pay their staff more than the award, whilst others just pay what the award is.

i worked at supanews as my first job, applied online and got it - really liked it - good managers, good location and nice people. goood luck !
